Seminar for Young Scientists

This year, the Seminar for Young Scientists held by The Japanese Society for Neurochemistry will be hosted in conjunction with NEURO2022. As such, anyone who is a member of the 3 organizing societies is eligible to participate. The Nagahisa Foundation has generously donated towards this year's Seminar. Call for the 15th (2022) Neurochemistry Seminar for Young Scientists

The Japanese Society for Neurochemistry holds a seminar for young researchers every year in conjunction with the annual conference. At the seminar, the instructors deliver lectures enthusiastically and discuss with participants about all aspects of research, including the latest research, experimental methods, and career development.

The seminar will be held around and during the period of Neuro2022. We look forward to receiving many applications.

Date and Time
  • June 24, 2022 (Friday), 18:00-20:00: Pre-meeting to get to know each other (Zoom meeting)
  • June 29, 2022 (Wednesday), 17:30〜: Individual Seminar + Plenary Discussion
  • June 30, 2022 (Thursday), 19:00〜: Plenary Seminar + Plenary Discussion
Number of Participants
  • Approximately 60 people (in principle, first-come-first-served basis)
Venue
  • Okinawa-Jichikaikan (Individual Seminar)
  • Okinawa Convention Center (Plenary Seminar)
  • Lestel NAHA (Plenary Discussion)
Eligibility for Participation (It is necessary to meet all of the following conditions)
  • Undergraduates, graduates, and postdoctoral fellows (until the fifth year after obtaining a PhD degree) who have been recommended by their academic supervisor. Participants must be a member of one of the societies (the Japanese Society for Neurochemistry, the Japan Neuroscience Society, and the Japanese Neural Network Society) or in the process of joining the societies (Please apply for participation after the membership procedure). Participation in Neuro2022 is also required.

What is included in the seminar
  • 2-day Seminar + Plenary Discussion, including pre-meeting Dinner and accommodation on 6/29 and 6/30 (Breakfast is not included) There is no support for transportation expenses or conference participation fees.
Participation application method
  • Applications will start on January 11, 2022. Please download the application form and send the PDF file to Yoshifumi Abe, Keio University School of Medicine (WakateSeminar2022@gmail.com). In the application form, please include your academic supervisor's signature for your recommendation. In addition, please include your name, address, affiliation, telephone number, and an email address where you can be contacted. In the title of the e-mail, please write "Application for the 15th Neurochemistry Seminar for Young Scientists ".
